I have a thing with first sentences and these are probably my favorite ones:
“Beautiful Disaster” Jamie McGuire- “Everything in the room screamed that I didn’t belong.”
“The Bad Beginning” Lemony Snicket- “If you are interested in stories with happy endings, you would be better off reading some other book.”
“Forgotten” Cat Patrick- “Aren’t Fridays supposed to be good?”
“Best Kind of Broken” Chelsea Fine- “If my bastard neighbor uses all the hot water again, I will suffocate him in his sleep.”
“The Problem with Forever” Jennifer L. Armentrout- “A lot could change in four years.”
“Waiting on the Sidelines” Ginger Scott- “I live in a trailer.”
“Walking Disaster” Jamie McGuire- “Fucking vultures.”
“This is Falling” Ginger Scott- “I was brave when I picked McConnell.”
“The Heartbreakers” Ali Novak- “Cara was clutching the latest edition of People as if it were the Holy Bible.”
“Until Friday Night” Abbi Glines- “This wasn’t home.”
“The Fault in Our Stars” John Green- “Late in the winter of my seventeenth year, my mother decided I was depressed, presumably because I never left the house, spent quite a lot of time in bed, read the same book over and over, ate infrequently, and devoted quite a bit of my abundant free time thinking about death.”
Blogger’s Note:
I’m sorry. I didn’t post on Tuesday because I have finals and tests that don’t even relate to finals. I couldn’t post and if I did it would have been half assed which I will not do. I would rather have you guys read something late and enjoy it than read something on time and not care about it. I have such a big reading slump it’s insane. School is hard and I still have a lot to go. Yay…
